Hungry
Hungry Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) chicks asking for food. Parents of these two chicks abandoned nest which was built on a pillar inside a house at Bondel, Managlore. We tried feeding with worms and insects. Sadly despite our best of care & effort they did not survive

Interesting, why did they abondon the nest? With chicks in nest, the parental instinct should have brght the parents back !!! May be one of the entrance (window or door) got closed ( guesin) ???

No,
I think some thing happened to parents. Nest was on a open area on top ledge of concrete pillar. No way to obstruct parents. Only suspicion I have is on domestic cats around there, who are quite aggressive with birds.

Oh ok.. I was thinking the same. The parents might have got caught by some predators when they frequently come down to feed these chicks… very sad..
